Michael “Don Jazzy” Collins Ajereh is a music producer and sometimes, singer and performer too. He is one of the best to have come out of Nigeria and he has produced beats for many artistes, both those on and even those not on his record label, the Mavins crew. He was co-founder of the defunct Mo’Hits group with performer, D’banj.
Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia, the capital of Abia state on November 26, 1982. His family moved to Lagos where he grew up. He was into music, playing the drums at an early age, and he later added the bass guitar to his instruments list too.
His primary education was in Lagos, as well as the secondary one, as he atteneded Federal Government College, Lagos. He went on to study Business Management at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo state.
He moved to London in 2000, where he honed his skills and later partnered with D’Banj in 2004 to set up Mo’Hits Records. 8 years after, the record label split and her set up Mavins Records label where he has some notable artistes signed.
He has paid his dues and continues to churn out hits after hits, year in and year out. A recently released Forbes’ list of the most powerful celebrities in Nigeria, he ranked 36th position.
