Urez Kulture has just recently released it’s SS18 Collection named ‘Swank‘.
According to the creative director Ijeure Ezebuike Onwadike, her stunning work is influenced by architectural lines and shapes. The award-winning fashion brand explores conceptual designs, new techniques and unique materials to produce wearable headpieces with edgy cuts and complex structures to achieve a decidedly modern verge.
The pieces from this collection maintain a lot of Ije’s signature play with structure, poise and femininity while going bolder with statement avant-garde pieces that push the edge. The collection combines the metallic elements of gold and silver with flirty soft feathers, abstract flower patterns, hues and butterflies. With a distinctive shimmer to each piece, Swanklives up to its name; fearlessly celebrating the complex, yet unmistakable power and soul in today’s woman; who is strong, ambitious, knowledgeable, sensual and so much more.
The creative director had this to say about her choice of model for the collection,
“I have known Usoro Akpabio, the muse for a while now. She is an excellent model. It is not easy to be a model. It is a performance. And she had a magic all of her own”.
She further added that,
“Nigerian women need to be aware of their authentic beauty when comparing themselves to other women worldwide. Nigerian women are among the most beautiful in the world. They are known for their beauty and strength all over. But it is a different kind of beauty. It is a natural beauty. It is more authentic and resilient”.
