Bad hair practice is one of the leading causes of thinning or no edges. The good news is that thinning edges don’t have to mean the end of your hairline.
Start doing the following Immediately
The first thing that you should do is to immediately stop doing anything that is adding tension to your hair. This includes wearing tight braid/ponytails. There is this need to pull the hair as much as you can to make the end result nice and smooth, but the stress on the edges is not good.
Make sure you use some kind of oil on your edges every night in addition to moisturizing and sealing the rest of your hair.
Irecommend Jamaican black castor oil, but there are lots of others to consider, including coconut, peppermint, olive, and rosemary. If you use an essential oil, be sure to mix it with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil.
Consider your diet. If you are lacking in some vitamins (such as zinc, Vitamin D, B-Complex Vitamins, or Iron, that may be part of why your hair is thinning. Assess your diet to determine if you should be taking vitamins or a multivitamin.

Itmay take a while but if you persist, you’ll ultimately get your reward. Remember drinking water is so important for hair growth. Don’t underestimate the value of regular intake of water.
