This is the part 6 of the “dressing for your body” series. Today, we are looking at the Inverted Triangle shape.
The inverted triangle is characterized by a bottom half that is proportionally smaller than the top half with little definition between the waist and hips. Basically, this shape starts broad from the top and narrow down towards the legs. This shape has ample bust, slim hips and the bum tends to be flat. There is also a tendency to gain weight in the belly and upper body.
The key to dressing this body type is to balance the broader upper body with the narrower lower body to create an illusion of an hourglass effect. Clothes that will add curves to the hips and bottom, while creating a more defined waist are key here.
