Men Fashion: Signore Fusion by Vanskere Presents “Kabuki” For Spring/Summer 2019

Signore Fusion by Vanskere, the diffusion brand of indigenous menswear clothing line Vanskere, has just unveiled its new collection titled Kabuki. The collection was created by Evans Akere of Vanskere and Emmanuel Isei of Kolors by Isei. According to the press release, Kabuki is a Japanese word which means ‘out of the ordinary which can be identified as avant-garde’.

During our research of the Japanese history, we discovered that the modern day Tokyo was called Edo, between the period of 1603-1868. This period was characterised by economic growth, strict social order, stable population and popular enjoyment of arts and culture. This period can be seen as the best period in the history of Japanese arts and culture. Ironically, Edo is also a state in Nigeria, West Africa thus we got the inspiration to fuse both Japanese and African culture.

The menswear collection played around with bold colours, geometric prints, fashion forward styles, modern silhouettes and rich aesthetics for the collection. Characterised by finely tailored eccentric designs, kimonos and pants for the contemporary man who is in dire need of a closet revamp, the collection is lit! What do you think of the collection?
